SPRING 2026 WORKSHOPS
Kids’ Spanish, 6 week workshop
April 13th - May 18th
Mondays, 11am - 12pm
Cost: $90/6 sessions. Sibling Discount: -25% or -$22.50
Ages: 9 - 15yrs
During each Spanish course, my goal is that practice speaking and group interaction take up 75% of our Spanish course, and instruction on grammar, pronunciation and new vocabulary take up 25%.
I do this not only to reflect the experience full immersion in a Spanish-speaking country would create (which would be the ideal way to learn Spanish!), but also to supplement what is not otherwise available at home. Online classes are helpful and plentiful - but they don’t offer much of a chance to really use the language!
In order to do this, at the end of each lesson students learn, ask each other and respond to a “Conversation question”, which is connected to the overarching theme of each course (i.e. travel, getting a job, moving to a new country, arriving at a new school).
At the end of the course, all of the conversation questions, new vocabulary, and applied grammar are merged together by the students in order to create and practice a “Conversation Presentation”, which they will perform for their classmates in teams on the last week.
Adult Beginner Spanish, 6 week workshop
April 15th - May 20th
Wednesdays, 6pm - 7pm
Cost: $90/6 sessions. Couples’ Discount: -25% or -$22.50
Ages: High school+
These evening Spanish classes are meant to provide a relaxed, encouraging environment to help you grow in knowledge and provide a place for you to practice what you know and learn alongside others.
In the beginner’s course, we take a long look at pronouns, how to conjugate verbs and put together sentences, where to put adjectives and adverbs, and do all of these things under a practical contextual “theme” for each lesson (i.e. a visit to the doctor, going to a restaurant, travelling, etc).
Each lesson comes with an additional 30 minutes of guided conversation practice (right after the one hour lesson) during which I sit back and watch (and answer any questions you might have) as you get a chance to use what you are learning!
For students who want more than what they get out of the weekly lesson, there are also recorded lessons available for a small cost, including a weekly review lesson and a weekly recorded conversation. These are meant to be used like you would a podcast - listen to them while you wash the dishes, while you drive, on your lunch break…you get the idea!
You’ll get to keep these even when the course is over.
Adult Intermediate Spanish, 6 week workshop
April 15th - May 20th
Wednesdays, 7:30pm - 8:30pm
Cost: $90/6 sessions. Couples’ Discount: -25% or -$22.50
Ages: High school+
This course is designed for students who feel very comfortable conjugating verbs in the present tense (including the more common irregular verbs) and are ready for something more challenging.
We will focus lessons around discussion and conversation, throwing in some of the more difficult grammar points as they come up (such as when to use preterit vs. past imperfect, how to utilize the subjunctive, and how to navigate the four types of conditional phrases).
This class is definitely more student-led than the beginner’s course, and lessons will be altered, dropped or added based on what each student knows and needs.
As with the Beginner’s course, each lesson comes with an additional 30 minutes of guided conversation practice (right before the one hour lesson) during which you get a chance to use what you are learning alongside classmates.
